So on August 3, 2014, Evan and I celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary and it was absolutely lovely 🙂 We have always wanted to try a local restaurant near our hometown, The Ledge’s Inn and we even stayed the night 🙂 It was perfect! As foodies, of course our anniversary celebration will be focused on food ❤
All I can say about the food, was WOW! It was so good. Simplicity is key and so is fresh real food. That’s exactly what we got! The chef was really chill, really young, but oh so talented in the kitchen! We started out with this amazing soup: a vegetable tomato soup with saffron, three crust-inis, and balsamic vinaigrette. So good.
Then for a palate cleanser (which I have never had in my life) was a raspberry sorbet with cilantro and vodka. I was a bit leary on it at first but man did it ever cleanse the palate!
Our main was a cornish game hen, wrapped in bacon stuffed with shrimp mousse…oh my gosh, SO good! I’m drooling just writing about it. For the side, it was an asparagus and cabbage salad with sweet potato chorizo. It was to die for!
Finally, my favourite, dessert. On the left is homemade peanut butter ice cream on top of yummy chocolate crumb. I swear it tasted so much like a Reese cup…mmmm so good. In the middle was a cute little persimmon on top of a raspberry sauce. To the right was this amazing double chocolate brownie lightly dusted with icing sugar. My fav! I must confess, I am a die-hard chocoholic. I love anything chocolate. This brownie was DOUBLE chocolate! 😛 I savoured every mouth full of that baby and just let it melt in my mouth!
What can I say about this place but thumbs up! We had an excellent stay 🙂 And they even gave us a glass of white wine each on the house! They definitely know how to treat a couple celebrating their first wedding anniversary 😀
